Goodness me is a wholefood store supplying organic Fruit and Veg. I am working towards my certification with the Soil Association to ensure I am a certified retail store, therefore all my fresh fruit and veg are organic. It was important to me to ensure the fresh fruit and veg I sell is not only organic and fresh, but is also affordable. There are many reasons why people are put off by buying organic fruit/veg but I found that one reason was because people considered organic fruit and veg to be expensive, therefore it was important for me to make organic fruit/veg as affordable as possible. I collect my fruit and veg twice a week from the wholesaler on a Tuesday Morning and a Thursday Morning.
I also supply environmentally friendly household goods such as laundry liquid/conditioner and washing up liquid these are also available for you to refill just pop back with your empty bottle.
There is also a range of gluten free products and dairy free products.
There is also a large selection of cheeses and a deli counter
Fresh artisan bread is available in store, which is supplied by The handmade bakery at slaithwaite, Huddersfield.
I decided to take over this business as I was looking for a lifestyle change. In my previous role it was important to recognise and understand our values and beliefs to ensure that clients were not subject to subliminal discrimination. My values and beliefs were my two sons and Marsden which I moved to seven years ago. I found in my previous role that I was spending very little time in Marsden or with my children, because of the two hour commute and the pressures of that job.
I have found with owning this business there are still pressure and demands of this role but they are different, and I see much more of my children and of Marsden.
I am excited and keen to offer such great produce as we are all becoming more conscious of what we are eating and where it comes from.
I have never owned my own business before but I am excited and eager to where my new adventure takes me!
